Who are we?

The Groove Room

We deliver a soulful and feel-good dance fitness class in a beginner-friendly format. This space is truly for everyone, whatever your background or fitness level. Rooted in Afro and Latin-inspired styles, each class is a celebration of rhythm, culture, and connection. We’re not about perfect moves or polished performance—we’re about letting go, moving freely, and feeling good in your own body.

Connect, Laugh and have fun

Many of our members describe our classes as a weekly reset. It’s not just the fitness—it’s the feeling of moving from the heart, and the connection to community, that makes it so special. A chance to get out of our heads and back into our bodies.
At The Groove Room, we believe in moving for pleasure, not punishment. Our classes are designed to get everyone up and dancing—not just trained dancers—which is why we keep the steps simple, accessible, while also keeping the vibe high.

Meet your instructor Karli

Karli’s relationship with dance started early—training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop, and going on to perform on Sydney stages in various productions. She went on to build ZFit Factorie in South West Sydney, spending over 15 years creating dance-based fitness spaces and a strong, beautiful community.
The Groove Room grew as a natural extension of that work—shaped by her love of Afro and Latin rhythms, and a deeper exploration of movement as something to be felt.
Her classes draw on global influences and are designed to be simple, expressive, and accessible—so everyone can find their way onto the dance floor .
